This week’s Guest is Elijah Thomas
Citizen Live with Haroon Khan
🎙️ On this week’s episode, Citizen Live’s Haroon Khan sits in studio for an engaging conversation with Elijah Thomas, author of the upcoming book “Dragon Skin” — a harrowing tale of addictions, incarceration, and the hard road to redemption.
Elijah Thomas serves as principal of a clinic based in Mexico specializing in Ibogaine treatment for opioid and fentanyl addictions.
Haroon Khan reports directly from the epicentre of the opioid & fentanyl epidemic, along with a tour led by guest Elijah Thomas through the mean streets of Main & Hastings on Vancouver’s Lower East Side — where we find active addiction, and also a sense of community and hope in the alleys and streets of our city, searching for a better tomorrow.
This is the first in a series of episodes and an upcoming feature documentary tackling the scourge of addictions that is killing thousands daily — shattering lives, irreparably scarring addicts, their families and loved ones, and damaging societies the world over. We focus on the problems and the solutions at hand — to save lives and rehabilitate those in desperate need of help and healing.
This episode is dedicated to the late Shayne Nyquvest — a former business titan of Howe and Bay Street — who dedicated the last years of his life advocating for Ibogaine treatment as a life-saving option for substance use disorders. Ibogaine is still a scheduled drug and currently illegal in Canada, USA, and parts of Europe… We hope to help in changing that…
